As a Real Estate Photographer, you need a website. Not a Facebook page,
not a blog, not a MySpace account. A website is important,
here’s why…
There are lots of reasons why you need a website, and it’ll all make sense as we get more into marketing you as the real estate photographer in your area that people should hire.
Here are a few reasons why you need a website;
- Professionals have a website, amateurs don’t. You’re a professional.
- Your competitor has a website, and your customers are comparing you with the other guys.
- We need a place to send AdWords traffic to, this is how you’re going to find clients. More about this in a future video.
- To show your customers the quality of your work.
- It’s a virtual business card, it gives your customers several ways to get hold of you.
Don’t hire a web company to build your website!
If you’ve worked out how to use your camera, you can work out how to make a great looking website.
You can get a really cheap WordPress website from a host like Bluehost. These come with themes and full instructions on how to put it together.
If you hire a website company to build you a site, it’ll cost a fortune. If you get a mate to do it they’ll probably never finish it, they’ll lose the login details and it’ll get hacked. If you do it yourself, you have full control over how it looks and what is on the website. This is important.
You need to have full access so that you can update the images that are on the website. If you have just photographed a beautiful property, it needs to be easy to get those images up on your website to show the quality of your work.
